"The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books."
~Henry Wadsworth Lonfellow

Picture
Hi!  I'm Mrs. Foster, and I'll be your literature teacher this year.  I thought you should know a few things about me before we meet.  See that picture at the top of the page? That's the breezeway on my 162 year old house. (Yes, I said 162 years!  That means it was built before the American Civil War.)  I love to sit out there and watch the world go by. See the wooden swing in the mid ground, on the left?  My husband's grandfather built that.  I love to sit there, too.

Now, you probably think I'm really quite boring with all that sitting around, but I like to do lots of other stuff, too, like: roller skate, go rock climbing, play softball, read books, listen to music, write poetry, go to baseball games, and eat foot-long hot dogs.  I also like to hang out with mannequins and run around in my bare feet, as you can see!  In a couple of weeks, I am going to jump out of an airplane with my friend Kelly.  I can't wait for that!! (Well...secretly, I'm a little bit afraid, but that's normal, don't you think?) Oh yeah, there's one more thing you should probably know about me--sometimes my hair does unspeakable things.  It's best just to look away.

This is our class website.  Take a peek around, if you feel like it.  It will instantly become more interesting once you start adding stuff to it.  I can't wait for that.  I also can't wait to meet ALL of you in August! (If you haven't noticed, I can't wait for a lot of things. I'm trying to work on patience.)  Enjoy the rest of your summer.  Oh....one more thing:
If you get a chance, introduce yourself to a mannequin.  I can't wait to hear about that!

Peace and Grace,
~Mrs. Foster

"Like a great journey, literature can show you things you have never seen before and will never forget."
